CAN WE SET A SONG AS A MOBILE RINGTONE. ISLAMIC POINT OF VIEW
Assalamu Alaikum.
First of all we have to know that in Islam music is haraam. It's strictly prohibited in our religion. We can avoid these little sins, it's not a big deal. It's not allowed in Islam to use musical tunes as ringtones whether we use it on our mobile phones or any other devices. As we have already mentioned that we can avoid them and its possible to do without them by using any ordinary tune also one brother says that can we use verses from the Holy Quran as ringtone.Now our answer is again No because its a some kind of a disrespect towards Quran. don't you think so. As we all now that Quran is a book of guidance and showing us the right way. Quran is to be recited and acted upon not to be a means of alerting people. So our advice is to use ordinary tune. Now we will go through authentic Hadith where Prophet Muhammad (Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) clearly said that the music is haram.
Prophet Muhammad (Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) Said That There will be among my Ummah people who will regard as permissible adultery, silk, alcohol and musical instruments…” Narrated by (Bukhari 5590)
This authentic Hadith clearly indicates that the musical instruments are haraam and Allah knows the best.
